Recently, FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration of Markets in accordance with the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall and the Implementation Measures for the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall Management, which will be recorded on June 6, 2018. Since then, the following vehicles have been recalled, totaling 659,049 vehicles.
(I) FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. imported some of the 2013-2014 Audi A4 Allroad and the 2012-2014 Audi A5, which produced a total of 20,278 vehicles from November 7, 2011 to November 8, 2013.
(II) Some of the 2012-2015 Audi A6L and 2013-2014 Audi A4L and Audi Q5 vehicles produced by FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. from May 3, 2011 to January 17, 2016, totaling 638,771 vehicles.
There may be two failure modes for the engine-assisted coolant pump in some vehicles within the scope of this recall: 1. The auxiliary coolant pump may be blocked by foreign matter and cause overheating; 2. The water vapor in the auxiliary coolant pump may cause short circuit of the internal circuit. As a result, the local temperature of the auxiliary coolant pump is too high and the related parts are ablated. In severe cases, the engine compartment may be ignited, posing a safety hazard. FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. will entrust the Audi franchisee to replace the improved auxiliary coolant pump for the vehicles within the recall range in three batches according to the plan to eliminate safety hazards.
If the relevant user finds that the auxiliary coolant pump is working abnormally, he should contact the nearest authorized dealer of Audi as soon as possible to check the vehicle. You should contact an authorized Audi dealer for repair as soon as possible after the start of the recall.
