Recently, Bosch announced the launch of cooperation with JAC to jointly develop a new generation of automotive infotainment systems based on the GENIVI2.0 platform in China.
Bosch intends to achieve resource sharing through the GENIVI platform and effectively streamline the development process and links of the vehicle-mounted infotainment system, thereby realizing the reduction of overall R&D costs and the optimization of the development cycle, as well as the promotion of in-vehicle infotainment system technology innovation. The new generation system will customize a series of corresponding functions according to the habits of Chinese auto users. With the cooperation of Bosch, JAC will launch the first domestic vehicle equipped with a GENIVI 2.0 car infotainment system in 2014.
The Bosch 3D Art Navigation Map will also be deployed in the GENIVI 2.0 system for the first time nationwide. This technology eliminates the redundant information in the realistic 3D map and integrates the Chinese ink and water elements. Through unique artistic processing techniques, the building in the map is more clearly defined and focused, reducing visual disturbance and improving visual effects.
The GENIVII Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the development and popularization of the IVI open source reference platform. It currently has more than 165 member companies. Bosch joined the GENIVI alliance in 2010 as a core member.
