Recently, the propeller of the world's largest container ship, manufactured by Mecklenburger Metallguss GmbH of Waren, Germany, was loaded at the container terminal in Hamburg, Germany. The propeller will be transported to the Korean shipyard through the 13,000 TEU "Hyundai Together" container ship.
According to reports, this huge propeller has a diameter of 10.3 meters and weighs 113 tons. A total of 5 blades are lifted and shipped by floating cranes. The propeller was transported to the Port of Hamburg for temporary storage at the end of February this year using a 30-meter-long heavy cargo transporter.
It is reported that the Hamburg Port will also ship another six such large propellers this year.
