Robert Wood and Jennifer Lewis, researchers at the Harvard-Weiss Institute of Bioinspired Engineering, describe the nature of the Octobot. Future robots can handle rough terrain easily. The robot is mainly 3D printing, after which the body is inlaid with two power sources and its movement channels. The movement is pneumatic, and the fuel of the robot is the resulting gas. It pushes fluid through the limbs and inflates them.
